Coached by Marcus Vega

I'm patient and specific. We work on one or two things at a time, and I explain the reason behind every drill, so players understand their own game.

As a varsity coach, I saw players improve fastest in the extra time after practice, working one-on-one on one thing at a time. I started Vega Hoops to give every player that time.

  • Played four years of college basketball
  • Nine years coaching high school varsity
  • Background checked

What we offer

Ages 11 to 18, from first-year players to varsity starters.

What a session looks like

Every session is an hour, planned around your player.

  1. 10 min

    Warm-up and ball handling

Footwork and dribbling to get loose and sharp.

  2. 25 min

    The skill we're building

The one or two things we picked together, broken down and repeated until they hold up at game speed.

  3. 15 min

    Game situations

Live reps against me or a partner, so the skill shows up when someone is guarding you.

  4. 10 min

Shooting and the plan for home

We finish with shooting and go over what to practice before next time.
